Understand an offset before you buy.
Once you have measured and reduced emissions, you may choose to fund climate action through eligible issued carbon credits.
What to check
- Project: location, activity, registry identity and credit vintage.
- Evidence: methodology, additionality, independent verification and treatment of permanence or reversal risks.
- Price: the number of credits, total cost, fees and who receives the funds.
- Retirement: how credits are permanently marked as used, for whose benefit and what evidence you receive.

You can visit the Gold Standard marketplace to investigate its listed projects and purchase terms. This is an external service; no payment is processed by Iam Zero Carbon and there is no partnership claim.

Only if they meet an applicable methodology and all eligibility, measurement and independent verification requirements. Building a low-carbon home does not automatically create a credit. Until eligible credits are issued, support for our development programme is a project contribution.
An offset does not erase physical emissions from your footprint. Avoid treating an estimate or contribution as proof of zero-carbon status.
